The biggest piece that drives learning in action on BigSpring is something that we call Practice.

Practice is a demonstration of Content that you have learned

Your quiz was a close-ended question that merely tested a learner’s grasp of the material in the content, but Practice is an open-ended prompt that inspires the learner to take action and try out the content for themselves. You could ask the learner to record a video of themselves as they pitch their product, or you could ask them to upload the resulting screenshot after they have analyzed some data or filled out a form, or it could be a text-based description of some product features, an audio recording of them describing product features - the possibilities are endless - depending on how they would best demonstrate that they are proficient at the content in question. Their responses will then be reviewed by a coach and depending on whether it’s approved or they are asked to redo, their ProScore will change.

To add a Practice Prompt, go to the Practice tab from the menu on the left in Admin (see Get Started on Admin for more details).

  1. Click on Add to create a new Practice prompt

  2. Choose a cover image of the Practice prompt or let it be the default image. The cover image is what users will see on the Practice prompt card on the app home screen

  3. Enter Practice prompt Display name for e.g. Active Listening, Body Language etc that will be visible to all users in the app

  4. Name & ID: for internal reference

  5. Type in the Practice prompt - ask the learner an open-ended question - to do something that requires them to apply the content. You could ask the learner to record a video of themselves as they pitch their product, or you could ask them to upload the resulting screenshot after they have analyzed some data or filled out a form, or it could be a text-based description of some product features, an audio recording of them describing product features

  6. Check all the response types you expect the learner to submit - Text, Image, Video, Audio and PDF. You can select min 1 and max 4

  7. Uncheck the Coached check box if you want to make this Practice prompt a Social prompt

  8. Clicking Save as Draft will Save the Practice prompt and you can make further edits to it. If you click Publish then it will Save the Practice prompt and you won't be able to make further updates to it.

Note: Once you publish a Practice prompt you will only be able to update the Display Name and Prompt text, the rest of the fields will freeze for any edits
